Spa photography fails in a specific way: it comes out looking clinical.

White tiles, still water and bright even lighting are easy to shoot and read as a treatment room rather than a retreat. What sells a spa is the opposite — warmth, falloff, and the sense that the room is dim enough to relax in. The frames here were kept low and warm for that reason, with the water lit to hold its surface instead of blowing to white.
